Free Mac Applications #2
August 3rd in Applications, Showcase by Jumana B. .This is yet another article that features 15 free Mac applications including Torrent clients, instant messaging clients and project management tools.
1. Simplifymedia

One of the features iTunes has is that you can share your music with a computer that’s using the same local network you’re using. With Simplifymedia, you can share you iTunes library online. All you need to do is grab yourself a user name, and share it with others. You can share music with up to 30 users.
2. Tunatic
Ever listened to a random music clip and was dying to know what song that was? Tunatic is an application that records a piece of a song, and matches that piece to give you the full information on that specific song.
3. Miro

Miro is a really nice way to view all your videos in one place. You can also use the search bar to browse through various videos from different websites.
4. Xtorrent

Xtorrent is your basic torrent client. It’s lightweight and easy to use. It’s also possible to search for torrents from the application itself.
5. Tofu
Even if you don’t like the taste of tofu, I’m sure you’ll like this one. It’s an obvious hassle to read off of the computer screen. Tofu makes reading from the screen a lot more friendly.
6. Anxiety

Ever get anxious with all the things you need to get done? Well, anxiety is an application to give you ease of mind. Like a to-do list, you can type in all the tasks you need to get done. Its interface is nice and easy to use.
7. Adium

Adium is an all in one messaging client. You can sign in by using multiple accounts at the same time which makes it very easy to keep in touch with all your contacts.
8. Inquisitor
Inquisitor makes it so much easy to search. It refines your search by using suggestions. Inquisitor is available for Safari, Firefox and Explorer.
9. iEatBrainz
If you’re like me, always lazy to organize your music library, then iEatBrainz is the application for you. It automatically corrects incorrect song and/or band names by sampling part of the song and matching it to a song in their database.
10. NeoOffice & Openoffice
Both of these are excellent alternatives for office applications. They are free and have a number of different features, including the basics that you’ll need to edit a document or create a presentation.
11. WriteRoom

If you easily get distracted by what’s on your screen, and need to get some writing done, then you should definitely try out WriteRoom. Its very sleek interface will cover up your screen and will only display what you type.
12. TaskPaper
TaskPaper is another task managing application. It’s very simple and straight forward.
13. iPSP
Really cool application for managing all your multimedia from your PSP on your mac.
14. Journler
Journler is a place where you can jot down your day to day thoughts and keep them nicely organized.
15. Operation

Operation is a project management tool that makes it very easy to manage those projects.

Too bad I don’t have a Mac but it would be cool though to try out those applications! Macs are lovely but they’re quite pricey compared to the other laptops.
Anyway sorry it’s been so long since I last commented on your blog. I missed you and your blog entry!!! I’m back now though :)

I’ve never used a mac before, although I’ve always wanted one and this blog would definitely come in handy when I finally get my hands on one haha. :)
The adium one sounds pretty interesting and the bird is so cute!
WriteRoom seems plain awesome. Haha. It would be pretty cool to have some of these apps on a normal windows desktop/laptop.

Those are really cool! I don’t have a Mac, but my mom does and they’re pretty cool.
iEatBrainz is the best idea ever. Makes me wish I had a Mac.

I love macs. I wish I had one. Some of these are really neat. Its nice to know applications aren’t neglecting macos! :)

it is? i didnt know that. i have windows and have had windows all my life so i wouldn’t know but im staring to not like apple with what’s happening with the iphone.
